The Civil Defense Department at the HMCDC held a preventive meeting with students on the topic of cyber threats and criminal liability for crimes committed using information technology.
The event was attended by officers from the Kokshetau City Police Department:
- Senior Investigator of the Kokshetau City Police Department’s Operational Control Division, Police Captain Timur Kalikhanovich Bazhirov;
- Community police officers from the Juvenile Police Division of the Kokshetau City Police Department, Police Captains A.G. Sabirova and Olzhas Aitpaev.
This preventive initiative is aimed at improving young people’s legal literacy, preventing cybercrime, and fostering a responsible attitude toward their own online behavior.
During the discussion, police officers told the students about the dangers of dropper attacks, online blackmail, and internet fraud, and explained the potential legal consequences of transferring bank cards and accounts to third parties, as well as participating in illegal financial schemes.
The meeting included a screening of a themed film that vividly illustrated the risks young people may face in the digital space. Students received recommendations on protecting personal data, staying safe online, and what to do if they encounter threats or blackmail.
