Аn open class

On March 13, 2026, N.S. Smirnova, a lecturer of the Pedagogical Disciplines Department at the HMCDC, conducted an open biology class for Group PB-12A on the topic “Spontaneous DNA Mutations.”

The main goal of the class was to introduce students to the molecular mechanisms behind the occurrence of mutations in DNA. The lesson took place in an interactive format: students conducted mini-research projects, answered challenging questions, and drew analogies between biological processes and real-life situations. The use of artificial intelligence technologies, which clearly demonstrated complex processes within the cell and their connection to the surrounding world, generated particular interest.

The practical portion involved completing a variety of worksheet tasks—ranging from basic questions to creative assignments requiring the identification of analogies. Students actively worked in pairs and groups, discussed their answers, defended their positions, and demonstrated their ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practice.

This lesson format allowed students not only to gain a deeper understanding of the material but also to develop critical thinking, teamwork skills, and a creative approach to studying biology.
