From October 11 to 12, 2025, the Republic of Kazakhstan Shotokan Karate Championship for cadets, juniors, and youth was held in the city of Kentau.

            Ruslan Nikolenko, a student of the Higher Multidisciplinary Civil Defense College, group FK-42A, represented the college with dignity, taking an honorable 3rd place in the individual kumite competition in the 18-20 age category, over 75 kg, as well as 3rd place in the team kumite competition in the same category.
