On March 6, 2025, the Department of Civil Defence of the HMCDC held an open lesson on the subject «Search and Rescue Operations». The topic of the lesson was «Openings in the External Walls of a Collapsed Basement». S.N. Mikhailova, a lecturer at the Department of Civil Protection, conducted the class.
Lesson Objective – to explain methods of rescuing trapped individuals from a collapsed shelter (basement) by creating an opening in its external wall.
Key Tasks of the Lesson:
- Educational – familiarize students with methods of rescuing trapped individuals and assess their comprehension of the material.
- Developmental – enhance analytical, comparative, and critical thinking skills.
- Educational (Formative) – instill confidence in emergencies and a sense of responsibility for saving lives.
The lesson incorporated an active learning method – mind mapping, which helped students deepen their understanding of the topic and develop logical thinking skills.
