The problem of teenage suicides (suicides) is currently gaining special importance due to their growth. From the point of view of various researchers, suicidal behavior increases with age, reaching a maximum of 15-19 years.
Suicide is the deliberate taking of one's own life. It is the result of the interaction of biological, genetic, ethno-cultural, psychological, social and environmental factors.
Suicidal behavior - all kinds of manifestations of suicidal activity: thoughts, intentions, statements, threats, assassination attempts, etc. It is believed that suicidal behavior in 90% of cases is a "cry for help" and only 10% of such children and adolescents have a true desire to commit suicide.
In both children and adults, the common cause of suicide is socio-psychological maladjustment, which occurs under the influence of acute traumatic situations, violations of interaction with the immediate environment, family. In this regard, parent meetings are held at the Department of Civil Protection with the parents of students.
The purpose of the psychologist's speech: to introduce parents to the problem of suicide in the adolescent environment, to provide preventive assistance to parents.
Tasks:
- to expand parents' knowledge about the causes, signs and nature of teenage suicide;
- provide an opportunity for parents to reflect and evaluate the relationship with their child;
- to form ideas about different ways of expressing love for the child;
- to foster respect for the personality of a teenager and understanding of his problems;
- to offer recommendations to parents on the prevention of teenage suicide.
